Our experiences, from the second we were born into this world, have all contributed to the person we are today. How we think and act when it comes to wealth comes from our subconscious mind, which is in effect a filing cabinet of our past experiences, also known as our Paradigm.
We have filing cabinets for everything, including for how we relate to money and wealth creation. How are we conditioned in three primary ways:
- Verbal Programming – What did you hear growing up?
- Modelling – What did you see growing up?
- Specific incidents – What did you experience growing up?
Did you ever hear growing up things like “money is root of all evil”, “money doesn’t grow on trees”, “rich people are greedy”. I know I definitely did. These phrases verbally condition the listener to become limited in their mindset around money and wealth generation.
If you grew up in a household where money was always tight, then you continue to grow up and live your life with a limiting belief that money is a limited resource – which could not be further from the truth. Money is unlimited, it is also energy. As such, we can bend it to our will.
Unless you actively retrain and rewire your subconscious mind, you will consistently sabotage any and all efforts to live a life of prosperity and financial freedom. Even if you have money, you will never be truly happy with it in your possession, because you will never feel worthy of it.
The process of manifestation works like this: Thoughts lead to feelings, feelings lead to action, action leads to results. However, your programming is what triggers your thoughts. Rewire and replace the old programming, tend to the ROOT of the problem, and through good thoughts and feelings that serve you, manifest a new reality.
Law of Action
What’s often missing in manifestation teachings is the importance of taking action. Not just any old action that tries to force an outcome, but inspired action. What is inspired action? Its action that feels good in the soul, it feels exciting, it feels exhilarating, it feels connected with a higher power, and it feels ‘on purpose’.
To make a change you must transcend your fears and take action anyway. Action is the “bridge” between the inner world and the outer world”. There are 4 key elements of change, each of which is essential to reprogramming your wealth paradigm.
The first element of change is AWARENESS – to change something you must know that a problem first exists
The second is UNDERSTANDING – by knowing where your way of thinking comes from, you can recognise that it has come from outside you, and it’s not coming from you
The third is DISASSOCIATION – once you realise this way of thinking isn’t you, you can separate yourself from it, heal it, forgive it and choose to let it go
The fourth is RECONDITIONING – rewire your subconscious mind and create a new wealth paradigm
Journaling towards wealth creation
Journaling is a powerful way to gain massive clarity on our current situation and inspiration on our next course of action. Here are some journaling prompts that have worked like magic for me:
- Awareness: Write down all of the statements you heard about money and rich people growing up and the habits your parents had when it came to money, and any specific emotional incident you had around money growing up
- Understanding: Think about and write down how has this affected your current financial life up to now?
- Disassociation: Can you see that these thoughts are learned, and you can unlearn them, and you have a choice in the now to be different?
- Reprogramming: There are mental files that keep you poor and these need to be replaced with files that generate wealth. Write down what your beliefs around money are today.
Once your current beliefs are identified, it’s time to reprogram them. As I’ve touched on in my previous posts, I’m a big believer in affirmations, which are a powerful way to reprogram your subconscious mind.
Go over to part 2 of this blog where I share 10 powerful affirmations that will help to reprogram your mind when it comes to wealth creation.
